Breaking news Bob Rae has abandoned his bid for leadership of the Liberal Party. Michael Ignatief will become the Liberal’s new leader pending a brief consultation of the Partiy Leadership. Ignatief will likely be installed as the leader by December 17.
This is a serious blow to The Coalition, Ignatief has already committed to waiting for the Conservatives to release their budget before deciding to pursue a vote of non- confidence in Harper's Government. If such a vote were to occur it is more likely that we will see elections rather than Coalition Leadership, Ignatief, has broad support in Ontario and the Liberals are likely to capitalize on the Conservative Party's recent fall from grace in Quebec. With this latest move, the chances of the Conservatives receiving a majority under Harper are severely diminished.
Ignatief is generally a fiscal conservative, and has been accused in the past of being a closet Conservative. His economic leadership will likely reflect more toward Harper's school of Austrian economics, and less towards the Keynesian School of economics reflected by The Coalition; meaning a more centrist approach. This is good news for Canada, but not good news to Westerners committed to separation.
Recent events have polarized people and demonstrated once again the divisions that exist in this country beneath the surface. Once the Liberal Party re-establishes its hold over Ontario, and Canada, I expect the West to suffer as it has under Chretien and Trudeau. Ignatief is a strong Federalist, and he will not share power with the Provinces. Essentially, we are back to square one; 2006. I fully expect complacency to re-assert itself in the West with the usual grumbling which will amount to nothing. We will continue to be governed according to a social liberal agenda and our institutions and people will continue to deteriorate as can be expected when social engineers attempt to replace the wisdom that has guided our people for centuries with their politically correct claptrap dreamed up by atheist pseudo scientists who harbor a secret hatred for God fearing people, white men and capitalists, in that order.
I think Westerners are the most unique of people, we are generally hard working, independent, respectful people who believe passionately in personal accountability. Generally, we don't believe in big government, instead preferring to rely on our neighbors, our church and our communities when we find ourselves in difficulty. We don't despise government, we recognize a need for it but the ideal government would not sacrifice liberty for security, nor punish people with excessive taxation for being industrius. Our value systems are a heritage of the frontier spirit that drove our ancestors to migrate west. We are unique in that even in our urban centers we still have adherents to our unique Western perspective; this fact separates us from other regions of this country where urbanites have for the most part long since abandoned the values to which we still cling. Likely, Urban Westerners still retain our uniqueness due to family connections; family members who still make a living from the land. We are reminded of our roots when we return home for the holidays, go to the old church for the Christmas Eve Service or step outside to stare up at a clear night sky with bright starts overhead.
Many of us plan to visit our families over the coming holidays, some out in the country some now in retirement homes or apartments, having long since left the old homestead behind. I would ask you to reflect on the simple life and the spirit that our parents and grandparents lived, to establish themselves in this land. Many of our older relatives have lived their lives with little to no representation in Ottawa and hold a bitter resentment towards the Federal Government from long ago injustices that caused suffering and worse a sense of powerlessness over their own destiny. Look well my friends, this will be us in 20-30 years and our children further on down the road. Consider this, because fate has dealt us this hand but only we as individuals can decide how we intend to play it. Our choices are clear; anti up and continue with our cause for Western Separation or Fold and take the path of least resistance. Is their still enough Frontier Spirit left in us to continue on with this thing?

Parlimentary Democracy is Outdated
Why do we even have this Parliament? Canadians debate things all the time online. The fact is, in many cases these debates are far more productive than those that occur in The House of Commons. Why do we cling to this antiquitidated idea of a Parliament. The technology exists whereby every individual has a voice and every argument presented can be discussed. We have the capacity today to poll people and vote through our IP addresses. Why is it that we cling to our antique system of governance, surely Parliamentary Democracy evolved in a time where communication was severely restricted by time and space. Given the reality of communication on a modern scale the founders of democracy would surely not have selected a Parliament as a means of imposing the will of the people, but rather placing the vote directly at the fingertips of the people, and eliminating the need for a middleman. Democracy for the people by the people has never been as close to hand as it is today, we could vote on every initiative and participate in an active lively debate as individuals participating in the process of our own direction and governance. Yet, for some reason, that escapes me, we continue to cling to our Parliamentary Democracy and turn our lives over to the heavy hand of governance. Democracy requires complete transparency and so long as the doors of power exist democracy will exist only as a facade not-with-standing the tyranny of the majority.

America, Land of the Free
Recently, I had occasion to travel extensively through the American South. My journey took me to Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama and a bit of Florida. I had the pleasure of visiting some magnificent ranches and meeting some great people. America, and Americans get such a bad rap these days one may expect to meet a bunch of gun totting, shoot em up red necks on such a journey, in fact the opposite was the case. As a whole the people I met were thoughtful, hard working and tended to be a lot more reflective about current events than many Canadians I know, keep in mind I am a Westerner. I had some great conversations with the cowboy in Southern Alabama, the lady in Louisiana, that bartender in Louisiana, the army reserve Leutenant Colonel practitioner nurse from North Dakota, the Mormon from Utah, the Vietnam Vet from Iowa and even an American Geologist who just recieved their Canadian citizenship. Also, my traveling companion, a colorful character from Southern Indiana and I went round and round on the war in Iraq, the American judicial system, racism and of course agriculture. What did I learn from my travels? Here it is: we share much more in culture, experience and values with the U.S. than any other country on earth. The U.S. is our natural allie in the world, not just because we share the North American continent, but because we have the same freedom loving, hard working, charitable, progressive values. I don't think that it was any accident that my experience caused me to draw such a conclusion. The people that I met on my trip were after all from the South and Western U.S.A, staunch opponents to the Liberalism that threatens our financial security and our liberty here in Canada. By Liberalism I mean Federalism which really is the opposite of Liberalism whether you realize it or not. The Media, Ignorance and Party Politics have done a lot to hurt our relationship with our Southern neighbour.
P.S.
It turns out that the polarization that exists in our country also exists in the U.S.A. as well. I discovered this while visiting with a fellow from Buffalo in the Chicago, Ohara International Airport. I mentioned my recent visit to the South, and his first comment was "they are a bunch of hicks down their".. no different really than the bias people from the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) have against us Westerners. Eastern Canadians along with Easterners from the U.S.A suffer from the very sickness that Liberalism attempts to purge "intolerance", yet they call themselves Liberals. Go figure.

Is this Blog Narrative Driven..
I think it is.. I can't help myself. I am so unhappy about the coverage that Ron Paul is getting from the mainstream media. It seems to confirm a lot of my conspiracy theory sentiment. Why didn't those filing cabinets at the Pentigon melt, as the plane did apparently (sic) on 911. Why did the 3rd building fall down on 911? What happened to the 6 tonne aircraft engine made of solid titanium.. apparently it "vaporized" on impact. HOW IS IT THAT EVERYONE IS SO BRAINWASHED INTO ACTUALLY BELIEVING THE MEDIA STORY ABOUT THIS STUFF> OSAMA its all a big FUXKING LIE!!

About the Blog
Here is an idea: Rather than paint ourselves into a corner by choosing a political party to cheer on, why not consider practicing Non-Affiliate Politics and choose to reject Polarization Politics. Here is why:
Polarization Politics: Having an inclination to Choose, identify with, support and/or follow a political party regardless of circumstance because one believes the party shares ones fundamental ideology.
A. Polarization Politics is similar to choosing a favorite sports team; one cannot change ones mind without losing face.
B. The Party one chooses to affiliate with is not an individual and therefore not accountable as such.
C. It is difficult to seek justice from a Political Party unlike a person. How do you prosecute a Mob?
D. A “Mob Mentality” prevails within a political party; regardless of individual interests the Party takes on a life of its own; survival of the Party usurps the credibility of our elected officials;
E. Democracy is undermined when Political Parties choose which Canadians are suitable to stand for election.
F. Individual accountability by our elected officials is sacrificed to accommodate the Political Party’s interests.
G. Our Elected Official’s actions are shaped by the feeling of anonymity that one would experience in a Mob; thus increasing the potential for rule breaking.
H. Polarizing Politics encourages us argue ourselves into theoretical corners and become polarized in our thinking.
I. Polarization Politics undermined the competence of democratic institutions to govern.
J. Polarization Politics causes the members themselves to vote against their conscience.
K. Polarization Politics divides the country.
L. Polarization Politics enhances our differences rather than our shared experience, beliefs and ideals.
M. Polarization Politics interferes with reason driven debate and undermines truth.
N. Polarization Politics leads to debacle rather than debate.
